Privacy Policy

Merritt Mental Health, LLC (“MMH”) uses the information you submit when you sign up for an account on the MMH Platform, or speak contractors or employees, to facilitate care navigation services. 

Signing up for an Account

To use MMH Services, you will have to sign up for a MMH Platform Account and submit payment for Care Navigation. To create an account you may need to provide "Personally Identifiable Information" (“PII”). PII is information that can identify you specifically or be used to contact you outside the MMH Platform, such as your full name, street address and email address. We also require you to create a login and password for two reasons: 1) it helps us confirm it is you that is accessing your account and 2) we collect credit card and/or banking information for payment for our Services.

Your Profile and User Provided Information

All information, communications or discussions that you communicate or transmit during Services while using the MMH Services shall be considered User Information. (For more on the "User Information, see our Terms of Use

IT IS MMH’S POLICY TO PROHIBIT THE EXCHANGE OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION. ALL SERVICE-RELATED INFORMATION PROVIDED SHALL BE INFORMATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CARE NAVIGATION.

Information MMH Collects

MMH is always looking to improve our services and platform. How you use and interact with the MMH Platform and Service is very important to us. We collect and aggregate user behaviors like browser use, search use, usage by time of day, frequency of use, subjects of interest, and frequently used functions to name a few.

How We Use Your Information

MMH uses PII in a number of ways that help MMH to improve Platform and Services. Some of the uses are: (a) Allow you to login to MMH Platform and use Services (b) provide you with the help and assistance desired (c) collect or facilitate payments (d) contact you with MMH information and changes to our policies.

Information Sharing

It is MMH Service policy to never disclose your or your family member’s PII without your consent. However, there are instances where MMH will comply with requests for PII, such as in response to a subpoena, or when required by law, wherein MMH is required to defend itself or submit PII for criminal, federal, tax and civil claims and inquiries. These disclosures may be carried out without notice to you or your family member.

Closing Your Account

To close or discontinue your account, you must contact us to confirm your desire to discontinue using MMH. Even if you close your account, your information and user data may remain in MMH backup records to prevent fraud or for other purposes, such as data analysis, account recovery, or legal concerns. 

Testimonials

We may or may not display testimonials of users of the MMH Platform or Services. Any and all testimonial or feedback voluntarily provided by the user is non-private information and can be used by MMH for any purpose. MMH may, with your consent, post your testimonial along with your name. 

Security

MMH takes commercially reasonable security measures to secure PII. Though we use current encryption and security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee its total security. 

Changes to this Privacy Policy

MMH may update this Privacy Policy at any time and changes will be effective upon posting. We will send you an email notification prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of MMH Platform or Services will be your assent to any and all changes.

California Residents - Your CA Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 gives the residents of California the right to request a list of all third parties to which the company has disclosed personal information to for direct marketing purposes; unless, the company has a privacy policy that provides the user an “opt-in” policy before sharing personal information.

MMH chooses to apply the “opt-in” policy. Before MMH shares any personal information with any third party for direct marketing purposes, MMH will first contact users via email for their consent. Only those users that give their consent to use their information will be shared.

Eli Merritt, M.D. completed undergraduate studies in American History at Yale, graduate studies in Ethics at Yale, a medical degree at Case Western Reserve, an internship in internal medicine at the Lahey Clinic, and psychiatric residency at Stanford. Upon graduation from Stanford, he opened private practices in San Francisco and Palo Alto, California, and received appointment to the Clinical Faculty at Stanford, where he taught resident doctors the twin disciplines of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology for five years.
